Voice woven through hurdy-gurdy and drum.
Turning the crank of her hurdy-gurdy like a spinning wheel,
Estelle Mey threads her music live,
weaving her voice, frame drum and drones into a dark, circular folk atmosphere.
Earthy, powerful and rooted in nature, her sound draws on myth and lived travels, blending ancient tongues with modern songwriting into breath, wood and skin.

“Like the call of the wild, Snake goes beyond music and speaks to that primeval part of us the modern world never tamed.”

About Estelle

I'm Estelle, an artist, musician and language & music teacher from Ardèche in France, currently based in the United Kingdom.
Everything I create grows from curiosity: a love for the ancient and the natural, and a fascination for what isn't yet understood. Music is at the heart of it all, and my Ko-fi is where I invite people to be part of that world
To support my music, I created a Ko-fi crowdfunder and I wanted to offer something meaningful alongside it. This is how two worlds came to life, around my music:
✤ Woodchant: Immersive sound journeys, voice practices, creative prompts and crafts, rooted in how sound shapes the body and mind.
✤ Fireside French: language learning woven through stories and folklore, where French comes alive around an imagined hearth.
