ESTELLE MEY
Dark Earthy Neo-Folk
Location: UK/France | Website: estellemeymusic.com | Contact: estellemeymusic@gmail.com
Voice woven through hurdy-gurdy and drum.
Snake (Folk version) - Official Music Video
Turning the crank of her hurdy-gurdy, Estelle Mey threads vocals, frame drums and drones into hypnotic, atmospheric Neo-Folk.
Her sound bridges ancient lore with modern edge: she braids today's languages with reworked fragments of forgotten and archaic tongues (Gaulish inscriptions, Old English and medieval texts amongst them), at times sparked by electronics that turn plant signals into sound.
Drawing from her roots in the wilderness of Ardèche and tempering them through time spent in Iceland and Great Britain, she has forged a raw, immersive soundscape grounded in nature and myth.
