🎧 VERDANT VOICES (Ambient Woodchant Journey) - Binaural Beats 10Hz - Alpha Brainwaves

Updated: Nov 25

VERDANT VOICES

A sound to retrieve hope, clarity and inner growth.

I just composed a new sound journey, built around Alpha brainwaves (10 Hz).

Created with 100/110 Hz binaural frequencies, and all tuned to 432 Hz, the so-called Earth frequency.

I wanted to create a space that feels like breath, beginning with binaural beats.

After listening to them for a while, my creativity flowed gently from that inner calm but motivated and focused.  Alpha waves are often linked to the Heart and Solar Plexus chakras, inspiring me to weave in colors, elements, and animal spirits connected to these energies.

I layered drones, nature sounds (like wind through sunlit trees), my hurdy-gurdy, voices aligned with the intention of the piece, a soft flute, and chimes. Everything weaves together as the sound grows.

The full piece is about 15 minutes, so you have time to settle into the Alpha frequency, and explore what it brings.

This piece is here to bring:

3 Key Benefits of Alpha Waves:

✦ Calm and relaxed wakefulness: The mind is alert but peaceful, reducing stress and anxiety.

Enhanced creativity and problem-solving: Supports free-flowing ideas and inspiration.

Emotional regulation and inner clarity: Helps balance mood, Symbolic map: open the heart and Solar Plexus energies and create a grounded inner space.

Composition / Experiential Feeling

Hopeful: Like a tree growing toward the sun, sunlight on green hills, lifting the spirit gently. Growth & Renewal: A sense of inner expansion and soft personal evolution.

Calm Focus: Inspiration and clarity emerge naturally without effort, flowing through the body and mind.

Summary:

Alpha waves appear during relaxed wakefulness and meditative states, and are linked to improved mood, emotional regulation, and creativity. However, too much alpha during sleep can lead to poor rest and fatigue. It’s also the smooth bridge when between the moment you wake up and when you’re fully awake.

✦ Associated Mental States: relaxed wakefulness, Calm, creative

Relaxed wakefulness, Meditation, Calm and peaceful states of mind, creative thinking, Reduced depression, Lower anxiety

“Enhanced alpha wave activity is connected with improvements in mood and cognitive performance, especially creativity.” Medical News Today

✦ Natural Occurrence: when brain is awake but relaxed

Present during awake but relaxed states, seen during meditation or light rest, Occurs when the brain is not actively processing information

“Alpha waves are present when you are awake but relaxed and not processing much information. Alpha rhythms appear during restful moments when you're not processing external stimulii, like daydreaming or closing your eyes.”- Verywell Mind

Sleep Impact: Too many Alpha waves during sleep can disrupt deep (NREM) sleep.

Too many alpha waves during sleep, especially during NREM stages, are associated with fragmented rest and poor sleep quality.” Sleep Foundation
“Alpha intrusions during deep sleep may lead to fatigue and feelings of unrest upon waking.” Harvard Health

✦ Brain Region: Occipital lobe (back of the brain)

Alpha waves are often strongest in the occipital regions, especially when the eyes are closed. They reflect internal focus rather than visual processing.” Nature Scientific Reports
People with anxiety show more alpha activity in the back of the brain during rest, possibly linked to internalized thoughts.”National Institutes of Health (NIH)
